Vocab boom
During the last few weeks the Large S has had quite the vocabulary boom. He's to the point where if you say “Can you say ________?” He will try to say it back to you. And while the new word does not often sound exactly right, it is recognizable as the word you suggessted to him. On Sunday morning the BIg O was all excited becasue he got the Large S to say ‘trophy’. On Monday he got him to start saying ‘Geico’ for the Geico advert plane that is constantly flying around our area.
This new willingness to try to say any word is rather exciting. However, I know that this will soon lead to the constant talking that tends to drive me crazy.
In the meantime I will try to enjoy the adorableness of his daily verbal discoveries.
Here's a partial list of what he says:
Pbutter
juice!
beans
bye
hot dog
ball
Bat
Baseball
foul ball
mitt
Ready!

i think my favorite is PowPow = Batman! =)
followed closely by: foul ball!
I suppose that not exactly a partial list of S's vocab, it's pretty close to complete actually.
.
Sorry, hon, but I think you're wrong. I think that his vocabulary is at least twice what we've got here.
really? you think so? the list is just so long.....but i suppose you are right, he adds new words everyday.
Yes, I too loved the pow pow. Dean's in a very similar phase and it's just so much fun. It's also fun to hear the different things that catch their attention (and I'm sure a big brother influences S.'s vocab with all the ball talk!). Dean still calls balls dolls. hehe.
He's been into tools and electronics recently, so instead of all the ball talk he knows things like screw, hammer, saw, speaker, tv, dvd, cd, computer, tack.
One of the first foods he could say was 'banana'. I can't believe I forgot this word. When he first started saying it , it sounded like 'blah-blah-blah' now it sounds more like 'bilar'
also forgot to add:
bike
water
avocado
hot sauce
Pbutter and Jelly
