Motorama

On Friday some friends of ours held their 8th annual car show. They were kind enough to invite us and we had a fun time enjoying the beautiful weather, good food, ice cream cones, playing on their huge green fields, and looking at the pretty cars (the 2001 Ford concept car was my favorite).

Hey remember that time

. . . I painted The Big O's room orange?

Well between the time we decided to paint his room orange and when we actually did it, The Big O determined he wanted his room to be purple. I am not a big fan of purple so I promptly told him that I would not be painting his room purple but orange. Orange used to be his favorite color but at some point he retrenched and insisted on purple.

As a compromise, someone suggested we paint his door purple. The Big O thought this was a great idea and campaigned hard for it--I was less sure. Purple doors in an orange room?

So we painted his room and when it was finished O said he really liked it.

A year has since passed. There has been no door on the boys' room. For a year. A year! Kind of ridiculous.

But look! I did it! It's finally painted!

A purple door in an orange room!

It looks pretty good.

The Big O has been staying with Theric's parents this past week. Having the door up will be a big surprise--I'm excited to see his reaction.

Now I just have to finish up with the closet door.

Attn: Canadians

You do many things well, but after tasting these 'Tastefully Canadian Macadamia Nut Chocolates', it would appear that making chocolate is not one of them. Let the Hawaiians specialize in the macadamia-nut chocolates. They do it exceptionally well; you will always be compared to them and you will always fail. Even when you put them in the shape of your beloved maple leaf and place a picture of a moose on the box this does not make your creation taste better. A better confection: maple-sugar maple leafs. Think about that for a minute.

See, doesn't that make more sense? You produce more than 80% of the world's maple syrup and about 0% of the world's macadamia nuts. Maple is your strength. Use it.

I'm looking forward to tasting and enjoying your maple-based confections.

Sincerely,

Lady Steed

ppps: seriously, did you just take the bikini woman off the wrapper and glue on a moose?
