Haircut

After about two years of thinking about it, I finally cut off my hair.

A lot of my hair. Most of my hair. Nearly all of my hair.

It's been three weeks since the haircut and I am still getting used to it--sometimes I look in the mirror and think, " WHO is that?" or "Good heavens what have I done?!"

Here are some before and after photos:

And after:

I've had long hair pretty much all my life, so this is a drastic change for me. Some days I like it. Some days I'm not so sure.

Some days I mistake myself for a boy.

WOW! I have to say that I really like it. It's hard to adjust to such drastic changes though.

You look lovely!

Holy Smokes! It sounds like something I would do! That's as short as I had my hair in China, and I didn't even mean for it to be that short. I bet your head feels a lot lighter. I'm glad for pictures. I'd never have believed it. Way to be bold! The good thing about hair is that it grows back. That's why I love cutting it and don't stress too much about it.

Wow! I'm planning a haircut for tomorrow and I'm not sure that I'm going to be that bold, but you are kind of inspiring me. It looks nice!

Looks great. I hope you kept a lock. Think of what you'll save in shampoo!

Yes I am saving a lot in shampoo, but not enough to cover the regular hair cuts it looks like I will now be needing. It has been three weeks since this cut and I clearly am in need of a trim! My hair grows fast!

Yeah, i always try to get cuts that will grow out decently. I probably only get my hair cut 2 times in a year. Short stacked bob, grow it out to my shoulders, short staked bob. When it's boy short it takes a little more maintenance. I do remember one nice thing was not really having to use a brush. Fingers were sufficient.

GASP! You look amazing, but I still gasped in shock. But yes, it looks great and you are the bravest for finally doing it. Bones like yours should be admired! :-)

OH MY GOODNESS! So cute! I can't believe it! The first time you washed your hair, I bet you put waaaaayyyyyy too much shampoo in your hand, didn't you?

I love it. But I understand the big shock. Sometimes you have bad days were you think you must have been insane. But then you look in the mirror and tell yourself you'll be fine. Because you'll realize just how hot you really are and that it is all ok.

Ooooo... me likey!

'course, I'm a huge fan of short hair anyway. I find that my opinion of long hair in general has an exponentially inverse relationship to the amount of time being a dorm janitor requires me to clean shower drains....

But, yes, looks very nice.

I find the notion of short hair being higher maintenance somewhat entertaining, but maybe that's just because all I do is run some clippers through my hair for, like, 10 minutes once every six weeks or so and call it good--a practice that I can't recommend to you in good conscience....

HOORAY for short hair!!! You will get used to it and absolutely love it soon, I promise. Plus it looks amazing on your face. I must come by and see it sometime. Oh, and play with your baby. Someday, someday.

(Your long hair was gorgeous, though. I guess you're just gorgeous either way. Lucky.)

I just saw it and gasped myself. I can't believe it was that short! I have a hard time believing it. Without photos, I don't think either of us would remember that it really was that short.
