Just wanted to say...

that I am not reading Harry Potter, unlike the rest of you.

Well, I'm not reading it right now. I feel quite certain that most of the people I know are reading it right now, at this very moment, and are nearly done with it, if not done already.

I will read it eventually but just not at the moment.

Theric ran out and bought our copy this morning and I actually read two pages, but no more. My right arm was assisting in the nursing of my baby so the left arm had to hold that tome all on it's own and it got tired, so I put Harry down.

I just am not that excited about it.

What I am excited about is the most recent issue of Wired magazine, which the postman delivered today.

It's got Martha Stewart on the cover!!!!!! And she's decorating a Wii cake!!

My two favorite periodicals have joined hands, if only for a brief moment.

It's a good thing.

Um, I'm not reading Harry Potter either. I still haven't read the first one, or any of them for that matter.

Master Fob just told me "that's a lie". I guess I listened to the first two books on CD, and I've seen the first four movies. But the plots are all jumbled together in my head.

Now that the series is complete we're thinking of buying it. Maybe then I'll actually read it.

I"m not reading it yet either. I love them, but I want to buy the 7 book box set. That doesn't come out until September. I'll have to find someone to borrow it from before anything gets spoiled I guess...

Meh. I finished it this morning and I was underwhelmed. I have been underwhelmed with the last 6.

Really liked that first one, though.

But I keep buying them, so I guess I can't be TOO underwhelmed.

I have only made it to chapter 2 because I'm trying to read while I nurse also and the book is just too darn big to keep a grip on it and the baby at the same time.

I loved it. It was a very satisfying read. I was pretty snobbish about HP for many years and refused to read the books (mostly because they're so overhyped), but I'm glad I got over my pretensions and read them. I thought HP7 was an achievement to be proud of, it managed to tie things up much better than I thought possible (ok, maybe with the exception of the last chapter, which is weak.) Hopefully you get around to enjoying it shortly.

I wasn't really that excited to read it either, however I did read it all because I knew I had some jerk friends who would want to spoil it, and I was right, so I'm glad I read it.

scienceteachermommy--yep, that's my exact same problem. Once THeric finishes it I'll give it another try, but I know it's going to take forever because I just can't physically hold it up to read the words on the page while I am nursing.

Is that a real picture or a photoshop wonder? Martha does have an eye for marketing.

I had to wait my turn for the HP book as well. When my husband finally did give it to me I read from 3 am to 2 pm and totally forgot about one of my really good friend's baby showers that night. It was pretty sad but the book was better... I'm a terrible person.

Sarah--yep, it's a real picture! Though I doubt Martha actually made that cake, I am sure some of her minions made it for the shoot and then she did some of the piping along the bottom. Inside that issue there are actual instructions on how to make the Wii cake.
