And they're off!!!

Who will get theirs first?

The LDOTFMOT letters are finally out of my hands. After nearly an hour wait at the post office and Theric walking straight smack into a glass wall, they are on their way. Their arrival, to those who requested them, now lies in the hands of the United States Postal Service. If you don't get one, blame them. Though the post person did warn us that they may all come back to us since they were almost, just barely, too thick. Huh. So, let's hope the post office workers are all having a good day and let the letters race on by.

You all truly have something to look forward to. I do not know how many times I have said to Theric, "I wish I would get something this cool in the mail."

I hope you all enjoy them and that you take the time to appreciate the many, many long hours, sweat and tears (yes, there were actual tears this time, though that may have had something to do with my emotional pregnant state) that went into their creation. And I am not talking only about the writing. Theric did the writing; I did everything else. My part is much more time consuming and physically and emotionally draining. The creation of this year's letter was like giving birth to a child.

So take care of my babies.

Enjoy them, love them.

Shorn Jepson Men

Thanks to my mother-in-law my men are now shorn.

Gone are their flowing locks. Gone are their tangly manes.

They look quite handsome.

Thank you mother-in-law.

The FOBs Have Left the Building

The FOBs left our humble abode Monday, mid-morning.

We had a most enjoyable visit with them and were sad to see them go. Especially because we do not know when, or if, we will ever see them in person again.

The Big O is, perhaps, the most sad. Ever since S-Boogie's departure he has said to me, almost every hour, "Me just want S-Boogie to stay at my house," or "Me want S-Boogie to come back to my house." How do you explain to a three-year-old that wanting something does not make it so?

Thank you FOBs for spending some of your precious spring break time with us. It was lovely.

Coming Home Soon!

After four days and three super late nights I will finally be returning home.
I am bringing a new family member with me.

Our new computer!

Theric will be so joyful.

I am also bringing home all the fully printed LDotFMofNY letters. I truly feel, both emotionally and physically, that I actually have given birth to these.

To those that requested them, they should be arriving to you before the end of this, the third month of the new year.

Don't worry, they won't poop or puke on you.

Speak Now

If you want an LDotFMot you had best speak up and send me your snail mail address.

They are being printed as I type.

Baby Maker

da Vinci drawing
Yesterday I had my monthly visit with my midwife. It's nice to go in and have a knowledgeable person check you out and make sure your pregnancy is proceeding properly, and at this visit I had a more thorough inspection than usual.

After her inspection, my midwife told me that she felt I could birth a nine-pound baby "easy".

Hmm. Interesting.

That I have "a lot of room in there."

Really?!

And that I seem to be especially well made for birthing babies.

Oh my, that is surprising.

She too seemed surprised. As well as pleased and impressed.

After all, she knows that the Big O was delivered by C-section and that with this baby I am going for a V-BAC.

I am encouraged by her findings. It's nice to know that it's likely this baby will arrive the way most do.

However, I am also amused to find out my structural design appears to be especially ideal for baby production. And not small wimpy babies mind you, oh no, big healthy strapping babies. Babies that have the greatest chance for survival and carrying on the species due to their hugeness.

I had always assumed that Theric's decision to marry me was based solely on the merits of my intellect, the marvelous meshing of our personalities, and that our temperaments are so perfectly suited. But now, well, now I have doubts about this. I suspect his decision to marry me may have been based more on . . . my . . . pelvic merits. And fallopian and uterine.

Sigh. How romantic . . . .

So I guess you can just call me Lady Baby Maker Steed, the Ultimate Perpetuator of the Species.

Did I say Swan Lake?

Because what I really meant was The Sleeping Beauty.

Which I have seen before.

I saw it back in 1990 when the SF Ballet performed it for the first time.

Did you know that it is one of the most difficult ballets to preform? I didn't. But after watching it, it's difficulty was obvious. I was amazed so many times during the performance. The male parts were especially impressive. It was wonderful.

Plus, my steak was really good too.

The only sad part of the weekend was that the Big O got really sick, and is still sick. He has the flu. He has a fever and since Sunday, has slept nearly all of each day away. He feels miserable. I hope he gets well soon.
